| Well, Easter is tomorrow!!! Gosh this year is going so fast, and once again I am on break in the beautiful state of Colorado ......the last two days have been fun, and I actually head up to my uncle's ranch today for a great Easter weekend!
Yesterday was quite interesting since my mom and I went to Denver to see an exhibit at the Museum of Nature and Science. It was a special, very popular, new exhibit that shows real preserved human bodies and organs: BodySystems 2 is what they called it. The bodies are preserved by what is called a plastination process, so oddly enough, it doesn't look real at all actually. So it wasn't gross or anything, it was sometimes just hard to know you were looking at something real! And you only saw the insides of the bodies, not skin or whatever.
It was an especially interesting exhibit for me to see since I just dissected a rat in biology so I was able to place where each of the organs would roughly be in the body. Also I will be taking anatomy next year (YEA!!!) so this was interesting to kind of give me a preview. I have no clue if I'll actually have to do any dissection in that class, but when I was orginally planning on going to PT school, I knew I'd have to dissect a cadavor! I'm not sure how that would have been....quite a....wow.....experience??!
I love going to Denver to see such things. I wouldn't be surprised if I end up there someday, practicing pharmacy somewhere. I don't know though, I guess I'll just have to see where life leads me. Who knows? Maybe there is another city I'll fall in love with (at this point I sort of doubt anything could beat the beautiful Rocky Mountains....lol
Oh, and I saw an interesting movie on Thursday: Take the Lead with Antonio Banderas. It was pretty good, but the best part was definately the dancing. Geez....it would be fun to learn how to tango or do the salsa......it definately looks like a lot of fun. Someday perhaps.....first I'd have to find a guy who likes to dance (lol)
Well, guess that is all for now.......Happy Easter!!!
| Wow, it has been a very long time since I've updated...lol (as somebody kindly pointed out to me...... )
Well, to begin with, I have been officially accepted into Pharmacy School here at Creighton......yea!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am SOOOO excited and SOOOO relieved. Everyone I know that has already been accepted are so nice and great people, so it is going to be a fun four years. Most definately
Also I had a ballet performance this weekend which was tons and tons of fun!!! I haven't performed since senior year when I performed the Nutcracker. It sure brought back lots and lots of memories. The dance was awesome since we did it to music by Queen....I was in Don't Stop Me Now and Killer Queen. Killer Queen was soooo much fun!!! The new picture is actually me in my costume for that piece Everyone who I knew that came told me I had such a great smile.....that it was obvious that I was having a good time......I just love performing........it is the reason that I dance!
The sad thing is though, I may not be able to perform again for awhile, because school is going to be busy and intense. I am not able to fit in a ballet class next semester, but we'll see.....maybe in later years. Otherwise, I can just take a Saturday class now and then to keep my flexiblity (lol) and then pick it up again once I'm a Pharmacist.....a Dr. to be precise
Well, I want to write more, but I have to get some sleep since sleep has been.....nonexistant....this week because of all the adrenaline and sore muscles (lol) So I will update again soon I hope......I head back to CO this week (Wed. night) for Easter! Yea!!!!!!!
| Well, break is now over, and I've managed to be somewhat productive today getting some studying in....and some much needed rest....lol! I had to work the front desk of one of the dorms (my job for the semester) from 7am-10am.....and I didn't think I was going to make it I was so tired! Last time I take nyquil at 12:30 at night, expecting to be up and going in 6 hours (LOL!)
Yesterday's drive was good, and I especially had fun listening to my music during those long 8 hours. In fact, I had the most fun once my friend (who I was giving a ride back) turned on Mars by Holst. I remembered playing that senior year in high school.....such a fun piece. My dad had given me a CD of the Planets for Christmas that year, just because he liked it so much and thought I'd enjoy having it for the memories
Not too much else is new, I'm afraid, but I wanted to post something. The next month is going to be insanely crazy since I now only have about a month and a half left of sophomore year!!! That is so hard to believe. And if all goes well......I'll be in professional school next year.....studying to be a pharmasist!!!
| Well, it is already Thursday, and I head back to NE on Saturday! This break has been so busy, which is fine. It is only a week long so that is to be expected, but I think the next couple of days I’m going to try and take it easy. Need some relaxation before I head into the last stretch of sophomore year! But in spite of this, I will also be getting a good chunk of homework done (I hope).
I spent Tuesday and Wednesday (till about noon) in Boulder with my mom. We went shopping at Flatirons, but I didn't really get much of anything.....just a nice green blouse for Saint Patrick's Day .....gotta show pride in my Irish heritage....lol. Tuesday night I saw the King and I at the Boulder Dinner Theater which was fun. It was good music....not the best production of the musical I've seen but it was still very good.
Wednesday I came back in town and went straight to the doctor's to get some antibiotics for this stupid sinus infection that I came down with on Saturday. Oh well.....I should be feeling better in a day or to....in time for focusing on the studies again! Then my dad and I relaxed in the afternoon and went out to dinner again, just him and I, since he had just gotten back from a business trip and was too tired to cook. We went out to another new Italian restaurant....we both enjoyed a delicious sea bass and delectable chocolate souffle....wow....
Today, my brother's article showed up in the newspaper! He was one of 10 high school seniors to be named Leadership and Academic All-Star by the newspaper. Check out the article: http://www.coloradoan.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20060309/NEWS01/603090345/1002. I crack up every time I read the title....it is so funny!
Well, this morning, my dad and I went to work out and then out for lattes and bagels again. I got some of my chemistry pre-lab done while we were at his office beforehand, so I felt somewhat productive in spite of my tiredness and slowness with this darn cold. I feel a bit better, but still might try and get some extra sleep this afternoon.
My dad and brother leave here in about an hour to go to the airport. Then I might go to a coffeeshop to read and such for awhile. Then I think I am going out to dinner with my mom and her parents (my gradparents).......probably to one of my favorite restaurants called Austins.....they make some of the best fish and chicken ever!......then I intend to relax some tonight. Tomorrow will be nice quiet study day....oh dang.....maybe not. Mom just called saying she might take the day off. I mean that is nice and all, but I really am feeling a bit smothered by her at the moment. A nice quiet day is what I really wanted......oh well. I told her I have plans in the afternoon and evening (manicure with my friend and dinner with my grandparents, my dad's parents). So if she wanted to join me for a workout and coffee in the morning, that would be fine. Go figure....she did want to join me for the coffee but nixed the workout...lol. I will, however, be working out.....gotta stay in shape!!!!
Well, guess that will be all for now. Maybe I'll think of something interesting to post tomrrrow!

| Well, here I am back in Colorado for a week with the family :) So far it has been so nice to see everyone.
Last night I got back around 3:30 but immediately took a nap because (just awful timing) I came down with a sore throat/cough that morning. But I was feeling better after that, so my dad and I went out to dinner, just the two of us I chose a new Italian restaurant (an interesting choice for me, but it just sounded good). And my dad and I enjoyed a fun evening together, talking and eating some wonderful non-dorm food (lol). Then we came back and played the incredibly amusing game Scene It......but he won....lol.
This morning my dad and I got up sorta late, so we went to the 9am mass instead of the usual 8am mass. Then we went to the coffeeshop downtown that we always enjoyed going to: Starry Night. We enjoyed sitting there reading the paper, having lattes, and talking. Then my mom came by around noon to pick me up to go to see the Colorado Ballet's Cinderella, which was my early Mother's Day gift to her. She was thrilled with the performance, and the dancing was amazing. It made me glad that I am dancing again Only about one month till my first performance with Creighton!
Right now, I am relaxing (checking e-mail and facebook) before dinner. My dad is fixing shrimp and London Broil (a very good type of steak).....one of his specialties. Ah....the luxuries of being at home! And while it is cooking we are finishing watching Caddyshack....a movie I actually have never seen before. Oh the gopher is way too funny!!! Also.....I realized my dad has quoted lines from this movie my whole life.....that is just WAAAYYY to amusing! "16 tons of greasy-grimy gopher guts....." and "You'll get nothing and like it...".....LOL (Sorry, very much an inside joke.... ) In fact, one of my dad's victory dances (another inside joke...lol) was inspired by that goofy gopher!
Well, tonight I think my brother will join us in a round of Scene It and we may also watch one of the movies my brother got off of Netflix....guess we'll see ....
Ah, and I just had to say, as I was driving back from Denver (yes, I drove my mom's car to Denver.....how I love driving I-25!!!! hehehe)....We got a beautiful look at the horizon....with the moutains as the sun was setting. I have to say, I have trouble realizing they are actually there, I've gotten so used to not seeing them. They are amazing.....truly they are one of God's masterpieces. It is wonderful to see them again
